AMERICAN MACHINES
An experiment by Olaf Blomerus & Ryan Booth
An homage to the late Robert Frank's timeless work The Americans and an experiment in photo-real compositing using Unity Technologies incredible Adam model.
THE AMERICANS
Robert Frank's poetic tour across the United States in the mid 1950's painted an unescapable portrait of a country filled with class and cultural distinctions. Showing the highs and lows of a time gone by with struggles we still fight today. The Americans serves as the launchpad for the compositions, moments and scenerios we might encounter in a machine filled society.
PROCESS
Plates were shot in and around New York City along with the necessary HDRs. BLMRS then composited Adam in to match the film scans contrast and grain to create as seamless and believable image as possible.
